Samsung Electronics maintained the world's leading market share in DRAM in the first quarter.
Data released on Thursday by market research company Counterpoint Research shows that Samsung Electronics continued to maintain its position as the world's largest dynamic random-access memory supplier in the first quarter of this year, with a market share of 38%. SK Hynix ranked second with a market share of 29%, while Micron Technology came in third with 22%. SK Hynix led the global DRAM market in the first and second quarters of last year, with Samsung in second place. Both companies had a market share of 33% in the third quarter, tied for first place. Samsung returned to the top spot in the fourth quarter of last year and continued to maintain a leading advantage in the first quarter of this year.
