The high temperatures in France have resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of poultry.

The French agricultural organization estimates that the prolonged period of hot weather has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of poultry in the country. The system for disposing of the dead birds is overwhelmed, and the governments of the two main production areas are considering allowing farmers to bury the dead poultry on site.
