On June 25th, China Merchants Bank held its annual shareholders' meeting in Shenzhen for the year 2025. Wang Xiaoqing, the Party Secretary of China Merchants Bank and the proposed President, stated at the meeting that the bank must focus on refining and penetrating its business operations in order to create new momentum for the bank's medium and long-term development. He emphasized that in order for China Merchants Bank to stand out in the Chinese banking industry, it must maintain "four firm principles". Firstly, it must adhere to a customer-centric approach, even in the face of temporary challenges; secondly, it must prioritize asset quality and be cautious in areas where its capabilities are limited; thirdly, it must uphold the dominant position of retail banking, particularly focusing on wealth management services; and fourthly, it must continue to strengthen its investment in technology.
