General Administration of Press and Publication: Micro-dramas shall be classified and subjected to a filing and publishing license system based on investment amount and content.
The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television is soliciting opinions on the "Management Measures for the Development of Micro-Dramas". It mentions that micro-dramas are divided into three categories: Category 1 micro-dramas, Category 2 micro-dramas, and Category 3 micro-dramas based on the investment amount and themes, and implements a system of filing public notice and distribution permits. Category 1 micro-dramas refer to micro-dramas with large investment amounts or special themes involving politics, military, diplomacy, national security, united front work, ethnicity, religion, justice, public security, and other special topics. Category 2 micro-dramas refer to micro-dramas with relatively small investment amounts and general themes. Category 3 micro-dramas refer to micro-dramas with low investment amounts and general themes. The classification standards are formulated by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and will be adjusted in a timely manner based on the actual development of the industry.
