Nomura Holdings and Sony Group are issuing bonds aggressively. In the first two trading days of this week, Japanese companies have issued bonds worth over 8 billion US dollars in the global market, making it one of the busiest periods for bond issuances this year. More bonds are expected to be introduced in the future. Nomura completed a 3.5 billion US dollar bond pricing on Tuesday, while Sony returned to the US bond market after nearly 30 years with a 1 billion US dollar bond issuance. The yield premium for investment-grade companies hit a 20-year low in January and is currently at a similar level, allowing these two companies to enter the global bond market during this favorable period. According to sources who wish to remain anonymous, NTT, a Japanese telecommunications giant, and its financial subsidiary have also joined the bond issuance trend and have hired multiple investment banks to prepare for bond issuances in multiple currencies, including US dollars, euros, and pounds.
