Boeing secures $2 billion US Air Force satellite contract.
Boeing has obtained a contract worth up to $2 billion from the U.S. Air Force. The fixed-price incentive contract covers the design, development, construction, and testing of two Mobile User Objective System satellites. The U.S. Department of Defense stated that Boeing won the contract after beating out a competitive bid. In this fiscal year, the company will initially receive $204 million for research and testing. The related work under the contract will be carried out in El Segundo, California, and is expected to be completed by September 30, 2035.
