The White House will convene major defense industry companies to discuss expanding ammunition production.
Local time on June 22, according to US sources, the White House will hold a meeting with major defense contractors on June 24 to urge defense companies to expand ammunition production. The report said that the US strikes against Iran have been ongoing for several months, leading to a shortage of ammunition in the US military arsenal. US President Trump confirmed on June 22 that the meeting will be held, stating that the US hopes to ensure an adequate supply of missiles, and if some automobile companies have excess production capacity, they will promote them to sign agreements to produce missiles. He also pointed out that General Motors is willing to transition to producing weapons. In January of this year, the White House issued an executive order prohibiting defense contractors from issuing dividends or conducting stock buybacks, requiring them to focus on increasing weapon production.
