The Qatar factory explosion has resulted in 13 deaths.

Qatar's Minister of Energy and CEO of Qatar Energy Company Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi stated on the 22nd that the explosion at a natural gas plant in the Lavan Industrial City in the country on the night of the 21st has resulted in 13 deaths and 66 injuries. Al-Kaabi said that this incident was due to a production accident and not intentional sabotage or hostile activity. A statement from Qatar's Ministry of Interior on the 22nd indicated that the explosion was caused by a technical malfunction. The civil defense department quickly responded to the scene for containment, and emergency rescue operations are still ongoing. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
