Focus on key areas such as industry and transportation, the introduction of rigid assessment indicators for renewable energy consumption.
The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration recently issued the "Implementation Measures", which clearly outline specific measures to expand the consumption of renewable energy and promote the integration of renewable energy, to be implemented starting from August 1st of this year. The "measures" focus on key areas such as industry, construction, and transportation, and conduct monitoring and assessment of key industries, emerging sectors, and the manufacturing industry in the field of new energy. For the first time, the non-electric use of renewable energy is included in the assessment scope. This means that besides green electricity, the use of green hydrogen, green ammonia, green methanol, and other non-electric forms of renewable energy by enterprises will also be counted towards consumption targets. A relevant official from the National Energy Administration stated that this measure will help alleviate the pressure on the power grid to integrate renewable energy and expand the application scenarios for renewable energy. The "measures" also optimize the weight of responsibility for the consumption of renewable energy electricity, by setting differentiated annual growth targets for different regions, promoting the optimal allocation of green electricity nationwide.
