Colombia holds second round of presidential elections
On June 21st local time, Colombia held the second round of voting for the presidential election. Voters will choose between the independent candidate lvaro Uribe from the far-right political group "Defenders of the Fatherland" and Ivan Sepeda, the candidate from the left-wing ruling coalition "Colombian Historical Pact Alliance", for the new president, whose term will be from 2026 to 2030. The second round of voting officially began at 8am that day. Voting will end at 4pm, followed by the vote counting stage. Preliminary results are expected to be announced that evening.
