The Zhongsha Gulei Ethylene Project in Fujian Gulei has successfully completed the middle handover.

On the 18th, the Zhongsha Gulei ethylene project located in the Gulei Petrochemical Base in Zhangzhou, Fujian, successfully completed a high-standard intermediate handover and initiated coordinated trial operations. The ethylene plant built by Zhongsha has the highest annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons. The success of Zhongsha marks the entry of the Zhongsha Gulei ethylene project into the final sprint phase of commissioning. Upon the overall completion of the project, it will effectively enhance China's independent supply capability of high-end chemical raw materials, significantly reduce the foreign dependence of high-end chemical products, further improve the resilience and safety level of the petrochemical industry supply chain, assist in the high-end, cluster, and modern development of China's petrochemical industry, and provide strong support for the construction of a world-class petrochemical industry base in Fujian to serve the high-quality development of the local economy. The Zhongsha Gulei ethylene project, with a total investment of 44.8 billion yuan, is the largest foreign-funded project in terms of investment scale in Fujian Province to date. It is also a landmark energy and petrochemical cooperation project between China and Saudi Arabia, aligning with Saudi Arabia's "2030 Vision" and the joint construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative," playing a significant demonstration role in deepening practical cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia and expanding high-level opening up to the outside world.
