A spokesperson for Xiaomi stated in a post: On June 17th, the Xi'an Internet police announced the resolution of a criminal case involving the use of AI technology to spread rumors about our company. A total of 3 MCN organizations and 14 individuals involved in the case were arrested, with 4 individuals being criminally detained. It was confirmed that the involved funds exceeded 340,000 yuan, 29 computers and 26 mobile phones were confiscated, and all related accounts were cancelled. Police investigations revealed that these MCN organizations owned a large number of similar self-media accounts, all of which used AI tools to generate fake videos and posts, which were then randomly distributed to various online platforms without any verification. We express our gratitude to the public security authorities for their fair law enforcement.
