Japanese and Korean stock markets opened low and rose high. The Nikkei 225 index continued to set new highs.

The Nikkei 225 Index closed up 497.75 points on June 17, rising by 0.72% to 69902.25 points, setting a new closing high. The South Korean KOSPI Index closed up 137.64 points on June 17, rising by 1.58% to 8864.24 points.
