The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has initiated a Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Chongqing, Guizhou, and Yunnan.
According to the meteorological department's forecast, on June 17th, there will be heavy rainfall in some areas of Chongqing, Guizhou, and Yunnan. Starting from the 18th, the main rain belt will move northward, and there will be heavy to torrential rain in the eastern and southern parts of southwestern regions, as well as in western parts of southern China. Some areas may experience severe rainstorms and locally extremely heavy rainfall, with a high risk of flash floods, geological disasters, floods in medium and small rivers, and urban waterlogging. In accordance with the "National Flood Control and Drought Relief Emergency Plan" and relevant regulations, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Agency initiated a Level IV emergency response for flood control in Chongqing, Guizhou, and Yunnan provinces at 11:00 on June 17th.
