On June 16, 2026, Liu Guozhong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, was invited to attend a special video summit on Africa's response to the Ebola epidemic and delivered a speech. Liu Guozhong stated that President Xi Jinping proposed the important concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind and advocated for the construction of a global health community, which has provided guidance for international cooperation in epidemic prevention. China and Africa have always been a community with a shared future. China has provided emergency humanitarian assistance to the Congo and the African Union, dispatched medical expert teams to the Congo, and nearly a thousand medical professionals are working alongside the African people to fight the epidemic. China will implement the China-Africa Health Partnership Action plan within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and call on the international community to strengthen unity and cooperation and provide more support to Africa. The summit was chaired by the President of Burundi and rotating chairman of the African Union, Ndayishimiye, and was attended by leaders and heads of government from more than ten African countries including South Africa, Equatorial Guinea, and Zimbabwe, as well as representatives from international and regional organizations such as the World Health Organization and partners from outside Africa.
