Spot gold rose by about 0.5%, silver remained flat, and platinum rose by 2%.
On Tuesday, in the New York session, spot gold rose by 0.48%, to $4332.23 per ounce. It continued to rise during the early Asia-Pacific session, reaching a high of $4354.88 at 20:59 Beijing time, before falling back to near $4313 at 22:34. COMEX gold futures rose by 0.08%, to $4355.20 per ounce. Spot silver remained relatively flat, at $69.9850 per ounce, with a trading range of $69.0730-71.1951 during the day, reaching a high at 21:00. COMEX silver futures were also flat, at $70.160 per ounce, reaching $71.310 at 21:00. COMEX copper futures fell by 0.11%, to $6.5510 per pound. Spot platinum rose by 2.02% and spot palladium rose by 0.75%.
