In May, the Pudong Airport Port in Shanghai reached a new record high in cross-border e-commerce.
According to information from Shanghai Customs, in the first five months of this year, the overall declaration volume of cross-border e-commerce at Shanghai Pudong Airport reached 345 million tickets and 36.415 billion yuan, an increase of 44.8% and 10.6% respectively from the same period last year. In May, the monthly declaration volume of cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reached 81.37 million tickets and 8.592 billion yuan, an increase of 68.4% and 37.4% respectively from the same period last year, both reaching record highs. In terms of cross-border e-commerce exports, traditional plastic products, imitation jewelry, clothing, shoes, bags, and home products remain the main categories, while high-priced items such as mechanical keyboards, telescopes, and wigs are gradually occupying a certain proportion. In terms of imports, direct purchase channels have higher customer prices compared to bonded models, with products mainly in personal care and cosmetics, fashion clothing, and luxury goods. The import volume of leisure and entertainment goods such as game consoles, outdoor camping equipment, and sports equipment has increased slightly.
