Zhao Leji presided over the 68th Chairman's Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress, and decided that the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress will be held on June 23-26 in Beijing.

The 68th Chairperson's Meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the morning of the 16th. Chairperson Zhao Leji presided over the meeting. The meeting decided that the 23rd meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress will be held in Beijing from June 23 to 26. The Chairperson's Meeting proposed that the agenda of the 23rd meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress includes the review of draft amendments to the Trademark Law, the draft amendments to the Registered Accountants Law, the draft Law on Public Interest Litigation by the Procuratorates, the draft Law on Antarctic Activities and Environmental Protection, and the draft Law on National Fire and Rescue Personnel; review of the proposal from the National People's Congress Finance and Economic Committee to amend the Government Procurement Law; review of the State Council's proposals to amend the Tendering and Bidding Law, Financial Law, and the People's Bank of China Law; and review of the decision to authorize the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to implement jurisdiction over the Huanggang Port Hong Kong Port Area and related extension areas. The agenda proposed by the Chairperson's Meeting for the 23rd Standing Committee meeting also includes: review of the State Council's report on the central final accounts for 2025, examination and approval of the central final accounts for 2025; review of the State Council's report on the audit of the implementation of the central budget for 2025 and other financial revenues and expenditures; review of the State Council's reports on the implementation of the "Eight Five" Legal Publicity Resolution, the construction of a unified national market, and the pilot program for Hong Kong legal practitioners and Macao lawyers to practice law in the nine cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; review of the written report on Chairperson Zhao Leji's visit to Kazakhstan, Russia, and attendance at the 11th meeting of the China-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee; review of the report on the qualifications of individual representatives by the National People's Congress Standing Committee Representative Qualifications Review Committee; review of appointment and removal cases, and so on. The Chairperson's Meeting also reviewed the report on the State Council's handling of the opinions of the Standing Committee and the opinions of relevant special committees, working committees, etc. At the Chairperson's Meeting, the Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Liu Qi, reported on the agenda and schedule of the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee. Vice-Secretaries-General of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, heads of relevant special committees of the National People's Congress, and heads of relevant working committees of the Standing Committee reported on relevant topics. Vice Chairpersons of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Li Hongzhong, Wang Dongming, Xiao Jie, Zheng Jianbang, Ding Zhongli, Cai Dafeng, He Wei, Wu Weihua, Tie Ning, Peng Qinghua, Zhang Qingwei, Lobsang Jamyang, and Shohrat Zakir attended the meeting.
