National Bureau of Statistics: The sales prices of newly built commercial residential buildings in first-tier cities increased by 0.2% month-on-month in May.
According to the Wise Finance and Economics APP, on June 16, the data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in May 2026, among the 70 large and medium-sized cities, the sales prices of newly built residential properties in first-tier cities increased month-on-month, while those in second and third-tier cities decreased month-on-month, and the overall year-on-year decline in first, second, and third-tier cities narrowed. The number of cities where the sales prices of newly built residential properties increased month-on-month increased compared to the previous month. In May, the sales prices of newly built residential properties in first-tier cities increased by 0.2% compared to the previous month, with an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the previous month. Among them, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen increased by 0.2%, 0.2%, and 0.4% respectively, while Beijing decreased by 0.2%. In May, the sales prices of second-hand residential properties in first-tier cities increased by 0.4% month-on-month, with the same increase as the previous month.
