The Institute of Nuclear and Physical Chemistry Engineering of CNNC Group announced on the 15th that Chinese scientists have made a key breakthrough in the field of stable isotope enrichment and high-purity silicon preparation, successfully achieving independent mass production of silicon-28 isotopes with an abundance exceeding 99.99% for the first time, and the key indicators of the product have reached the international advanced level. The research team introduced that this scientific breakthrough will provide solid support for the independent research and development of silicon-based quantum computing chips in China, as well as the high-quality development of advanced process semiconductors, precise navigation, metrological benchmarks, and other cutting-edge technology fields.
