The London Gold and Silver Market is considering adjusting auction times to cater to the Asian market.
The London Bullion Market Association is considering advancing the morning gold auction time to cater to the needs of Asian traders. LBMA Chief Executive Officer Ruth Crowel stated on Monday that this potential adjustment is aimed at "reflecting the market conditions during the Asian session and promoting price discovery during that time." She said at the Asia Pacific Precious Metals Conference in Singapore, "I know the market has been wanting this for years, but I think now is the right time." However, Crowel did not specify the new time or specific timeframe being considered, nor did she disclose when this potential adjustment might be implemented.
