The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today launched public consultation on the first five-year plan for economic and social development in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It mentioned increasing housing supply, continuing to promote the development of public housing, including building more rental public housing and subsidizing units for sale, as well as providing "simple public housing" to meet the housing needs of different income families. It will orderly eliminate poor quality "subdivided units" and ensure that grassroots tenants have a safe, hygienic, and appropriate housing environment. Accelerate land development and urban renewal, enhance land use efficiency and the sustainability of housing supply, improve housing environment and living quality.
