The State Administration for Market Regulation has summoned the headquarters of Sam's Club to address the frequent food safety issues.
According to the Zhitong Financial APP, the State Administration for Market Regulation announced on June 15th that in response to the frequent food safety issues found in offline Sam's Club stores and online stores exposed by the media for a period of time, the competent person of Walmart (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (i.e. Sam's headquarters) was recently interviewed by the State Administration for Market Regulation, and asked to strictly abide by the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, as well as the regulations on the implementation of food safety responsibilities for food sales chain enterprises and online food sales operators, and to always maintain a strong awareness of food safety, strictly fulfill the main responsibility for food safety, consciously practice corporate social responsibility, effectively prevent food safety risks throughout the entire chain, and effectively ensure the safety of public food consumption.
