Some organizations in China have released information on large-scale engineering projects in Sudan, and the Chinese embassy in Sudan has issued a risk warning.
The Chinese Embassy in Sudan's official WeChat account recently posted an article stating that some Chinese companies have reported to our embassy that certain organizations are releasing information about large-scale engineering projects in Sudan and organizing project bidding in China. After reviewing the bidding documents, our embassy would like to remind companies of the following project risks:
1. The source of project funding is not clearly stated in the bidding documents, the requirements for winning bids are strict, and there are high risks in project implementation.
2. The bidding units are non-government organizations, not project owners, and have not provided evidence of past performance in similar projects.
3. Since 2023, Sudan has been in a state of armed conflict, with an overall high security risk. The infrastructure has been severely damaged, making it difficult to carry out engineering projects in Sudan.
Therefore, our embassy once again reminds Chinese companies to thoroughly understand the actual situation of relevant organizations, make practical assessments of project opportunities and implementation risks, and safely carry out project cooperation.
