Japanese company's request to stop LNG strike, claiming it will harm the Australian economy, has been dismissed by the Australian court.
An Australian labor court rejected an application from the Japanese gas company Inpex on Sunday, denying its request to halt a strike by approximately 400 oil and gas workers at its Ichthys liquefied natural gas project. The Australian Fair Work Commission dismissed Inpex's claims that a work stoppage would harm the Australian economy by causing loss of export revenue and potentially leading to dangerous power outages.
