The Shantou Meteorological Public Service Center in Shantou City, Guangdong Province issued a message on June 14th that a waterspout came ashore near the Honghai Bay Sea Road in Shantou City around 23:02 on June 13th. The Shantou Meteorological Bureau and the Foshan Tornado Research Center conducted an analysis and judgment, confirming that the waterspout formed and affected the area around 23:00 on June 13th. As the city has entered the dragon boat water season, Shantou City is prone to short-duration heavy rainfall, strong winds, and other severe convective weather. Residents should be vigilant and take precautions.
