SK Hynix hired over 2,000 new employees last year.

Industry insiders revealed on Sunday that driven by the global artificial intelligence boom, the demand for storage chips has surged, leading SK Hynix to hire over 2000 new employees last year. Against the backdrop of a slowdown in the overall job market in South Korea, this expansion is particularly noteworthy. Data shows that by the end of 2025, the total number of SK Hynix employees reached 34,549, an increase of 2,159 from the previous year. Meanwhile, during the same period, Samsung Electronics' chip business equipment solutions department saw a slight decrease in employees from 78,699 to 78,064. As of the end of last year, the total number of chip-related employees at these two tech giants reached 112,613, an increase of 1,554 compared to the previous year.
