Continuous heavy rainfall in the southern parts of Jiangnan and South China regions, the Office of the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters organized a multi-department meeting to deploy flood control and disaster relief work.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Management, on June 13, the Office of the State Flood Control Headquarters and the Ministry of Emergency Management organized a joint consultation with multiple departments including the China Meteorological Administration, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the Ministry of Transport, to conduct video conferences with 9 provinces including Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Guangdong, and Guangxi, to analyze and assess the recent development trend of rainfall, and to study and deploy flood control and disaster relief work in key areas. The State Flood Control Headquarters maintained a level IV emergency response for flood control in Guangdong, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Hunan, Zhejiang, and Fujian, and dispatched two working groups to guide flood control and disaster reduction work in Guangxi and Jiangxi. Director of the State Flood Control Headquarters and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Management and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Water Resources Chen Min presided over the consultation.
