According to China Railway Group, from January to May of this year, the national railway carried 1.969 billion passengers, an increase of 5.7% compared to the same period last year. Multiple indicators such as total passenger volume, daily passenger flow, and cross-border passenger flow have reached record highs for the same period in history. In the first five months of this year, the demand for passenger travel has been strong. China Railway Group has fully utilized the big data from the railway's 12306 ticketing system and standby ticket purchasing, dynamically analyzed travel demand, and timely increased capacity in popular directions, sections, and time periods. From January to May, the national railway operated an average of 11,541 passenger trains per day, an increase of 5.9% compared to the same period last year. On May 1st, 248.44 million passengers were sent, setting a new record for daily passenger volume.
