AI can assist in screening for more than 70 different diseases at once.
CCTV financial journalists found during their visits that AI-assisted systems have been widely applied in several hospitals in Shanghai, from intelligent diagnosis in the cardiology department, to comprehensive scanning in the radiology department, to AI navigation in the operating room. In the radiology department of the same hospital, a single CT scan no longer only looks at one issue. With the help of AI systems, doctors can screen over 70 different diseases with just one click, generate reports automatically, and compare them layer by layer with historical images. A difference of just one millimeter in surgery could lead to two different outcomes. After the introduction of AI navigation in the liver surgery department of Ruijin Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, blood vessel pathways and tumor locations are presented in a three-dimensional manner. Key steps that were previously based on experiential judgment can now be planned before the surgery begins.
