Boosted by chip and metal stocks, the Nikkei 225 index closed up 1802.77 points on June 12th, a gain of 2.81%, at 66020.04 points. The South Korean KOSPI index closed up 348.63 points on June 12th, a gain of 4.49%, at 8112.58 points, with a peak increase of over 8% during the session.
