The latest research data from an international team shows that by 2025, the global average temperature will be 1.39 degrees Celsius higher than pre-industrial levels, with 1.37 degrees Celsius of it attributed to human activities. Researchers from institutions including the French National Center for Scientific Research published a paper in the journal Earth System Science Data on the 11th, stating that 2025 is expected to be the third hottest year on record, with the global average temperature being 1.39 degrees Celsius higher than the average from 1850 to 1900, of which 1.37 degrees Celsius is due to human-induced global warming, with limited impact from natural climate system variability. The research also shows that the rate of global warming caused by human activities is currently at historically high levels, at approximately 0.27 degrees Celsius every decade. This is mainly due to record levels of greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere. Based on current levels of carbon dioxide emissions, it is projected that human-induced global warming will exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius around 2030. Researchers state that these climate indicators indicate that human-induced climate change is continuing at a record pace, emphasizing the urgent need to strengthen decarbonization efforts to reduce the impact of climate change on health, food security, socio-economics, and biodiversity. While different institutions may use different methods and models to analyze global temperature data, they all show a consistent trend of ongoing warming. The World Meteorological Organization previously conducted a comprehensive analysis of multiple datasets, showing that by 2025, the global average temperature will be 1.44 degrees Celsius higher than pre-industrial levels.
