International energy prices continue to fluctuate, impacting the tourism industry in Thailand.
The tourism industry is an important pillar of the Thai economy. However, due to fluctuations in international energy prices, the cost of air transportation, hotel operations, and tourism services continues to rise, posing new challenges to the Thai tourism industry. With the continuous rise in international fuel prices, the Thai tourism industry is experiencing increasingly visible pressure. Rising air ticket prices and increasing tourism transportation costs are affecting tourists' travel choices and spending habits. In response, the Tourism Authority of Thailand has lowered the expected number of foreign tourists in 2026, forecasting a decrease of 5% to 10% in the number of people traveling to Thailand.
