Semaglutide, Tresiba and other GLP-1 class drugs have once become a phenomenon class on e-commerce platforms, considered by many consumers as a "miracle drug for weight loss." However, after the new revised "Regulations on the Implementation of the Drug Administration Law" came into effect on May 15th this year, platforms such as Tmall and JD.com have tightened the online sales of GLP-1 class drugs. A reporter from the 21st Century Economic News investigated Tmall, JD.com and other mainstream e-commerce platforms and found that there are differences in the purchasing processes for different platforms and products, and the compliance standards vary. On the Tmall platform, when asked if a prescription is needed, customer service said, "After placing the order, send your height and weight information to the clinic pharmacist to see if they can help you get a prescription, communication via WeChat will do." On the JD Health platform, for drugs such as Novo Nordisk and Exenatide, store customer service clearly stated that currently such drugs require a prescription for offline pick-up, and online channels have basically been tightened.
