Meta repeatedly postpones the release of the new AI model for developers.
According to reports from media citing informed sources, Meta has repeatedly delayed its plans to release its new Muse Spark AI model API to developers, as of Tuesday, the API still does not have a set release date. A spokesperson for Meta said on Wednesday that the company has begun testing the API with some early partners and expects to release the API this month. An API is a software interface used to determine the way two software systems interact. In a post on X platform in April, Meta's AI chief Alexander Wang announced, "Muse Spark API is coming soon." Meta launched Muse Spark in April, which is the company's first model created to close the gap with competitors. Muse Spark is the first in a new series of models created by the company's Superintelligence Lab. Earlier this week, Meta released an artificial intelligence agent aimed at assisting businesses in their daily operations, signaling the company's ambition to compete with rivals such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google under Alphabet Inc.
