Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, plans to discuss the upcoming SpaceX initial public offering with thousands of the bank's high-net-worth clients this week, alongside the management team of the rocket manufacturer in an unprecedented promotion across the United States. According to the invitation seen by the media, Dimon will host a "live interactive discussion" at JPMorgan Chase headquarters on Thursday. Attendees will also include Mary Callahan Erdoes, CEO of the bank's asset and wealth management division, as well as two SpaceX executives - President Gwynne Shotwell and CFO Bret Johnsen. While it is not uncommon for banks to hold roadshows before an IPO, the scale of JPMorgan Chase's event highlights the huge demand in the market for what could be the largest IPO in history. JPMorgan Chase's involvement is particularly notable given the rocky history it has had with SpaceX CEO Musk. The bank previously sued Musk's electric car manufacturer Tesla in 2021, alleging that a series of stock call options trades were influenced by Musk's attempts to take Tesla private at one point. Tesla later countersued, and the two sides agreed to drop the suit in November 2024. Months later, Dimon joked that he had "made peace" with Musk and expressed his support for Musk and his companies in the future.
