In the early morning of June 3rd, with the smooth landing of flight KC8217 at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, the Baiyun Airport port added the first direct flight route between Guangzhou and Astana, marking the first direct flight route between the core cities of the Greater Bay Area and the capital of Kazakhstan. This improves the air traffic network between China and Central Asia and will effectively serve the country's high-level opening up to the outside world and regional connectivity. According to statistics from the Baiyun Border Inspection Station, with the continuous release of the visa-free policy between China and Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the exchanges of people between China and the relevant countries continue to increase. As of June 2nd, the number of Central Asian passengers entering and exiting through the Baiyun Airport port this year has exceeded 90,000, a significant increase of 286.6% year-on-year. Among them, the growth of passengers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan is particularly significant, with increases of 258.4%, 351.9%, and 660.6% respectively; the number of passengers from other countries in the region coming to China through Guangzhou is also increasing.
