On June 2nd local time, the US Central Command announced that the US military took action in the Arabian Gulf against an oil tanker heading towards an Iranian port, causing it to lose its ability to navigate. The US Central Command stated that the oil tanker "Lexie," flying the flag of Botswana, was heading towards Iran's Khark Island. The US side said that the ship had repeatedly ignored US military warnings and instructions and failed to comply with relevant blockade measures within 24 hours. Subsequently, a US military aircraft launched a "Hellfire" missile at the ship's engine room, causing the oil tanker to lose power and be unable to continue to Iran. The US Central Command stated that since April 13th, when it started implementing measures to block maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports, the US military has disabled 6 commercial ships and diverted 122 ships. Currently, the US-Iran ceasefire is still in effect.
