Amazon says the EU shouldn't include cloud services in the scope of digital competition regulations.

Andrew DeVore, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Amazon, stated in a blog post that if cloud software services are classified as regulated platforms under the EU Digital Markets Act, it may hinder industry innovation and increase operating costs for European companies. The EU is currently conducting an investigation to determine whether Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, the two major cloud services, should be classified as "gatekeeper" companies in the EU. He pointed out that "the cloud computing industry is already competitive and there is EU legislation in place for regulation."
