Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory delivered a record high in May, with a year-on-year increase of nearly 40%.

According to the latest statistics from the China Passenger Car Association, Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory delivered over 85,000 electric cars in May, setting a new monthly delivery record for 2026, an increase of 39.4% year-on-year and 8% month-on-month. As Tesla's largest export center globally, the Shanghai Gigafactory accounts for more than half of the total global deliveries. The large six-seat luxury SUV Model Y L produced by the Shanghai factory is accelerating delivery to several Asia-Pacific markets such as Singapore, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines.
