Local time on the 31st, Dutch local news reported that the "Hondius" cruise ship, which had previously experienced a deadly hantavirus outbreak, has been declared virus-free after thorough cleaning and inspection, and has been allowed to resume operation. The Rotterdam-Rijnmond Public Health Service announced that the ship had completed disinfection at the port of Rotterdam. Prior to this, the ship had undergone isolation, sanitary treatment, and additional cleaning and disinfection. The Dutch company "Oceanwide Expeditions" is expected to resume regular cruises of the "Hondius" ship on June 13th. The next planned expedition will depart from the town of Longyearbyen on the island of Spitsbergen and sail through the archipelagos of the North Sea. About two weeks ago, the "Hondius" cruise ship docked at the port of Rotterdam, and a professional cleaning company disinfected it under strict conditions. After preliminary inspection, experts from the public health department believed that further cleaning was necessary. After completing additional disinfection work, the health department determined that all requirements had been met and that there were "no obstacles" to the ship resuming operation. 25 crew members were quarantined for several weeks after the ship arrived in Rotterdam. Most of these crew members are foreigners and are currently isolated in specially designated quarantine cabins in the port area.
