"The elderly population in Hong Kong and Macao is large, and many elderly people choose to retire in mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area. However, the medical security and welfare systems need to be further implemented for mutual recognition and communication." Dou Zulin, President of the Guangdong Rehabilitation Medical Association, said in Guangzhou on the 30th that there is great potential for cross-border health and elderly care in the Greater Bay Area. Currently, several "Greater Bay Area standards" have been released, involving the scope of elderly care services. These standards will integrate and learn from the mature care standards in Hong Kong and Macao, and establish a seamless flow of rehabilitation and elderly care services among the three regions. Dou Zulin stated that this year, efforts will continue to promote the construction of group standards for cultivating rehabilitation talents in Guangdong Province. By supplementing shortcomings with an international perspective, strengthening the foundation with a standard system, and improving quality through standardization, rehabilitation and elderly care talents will transition from "cultivation" to "development," and from "experiential" to "standardized" models.
