Shanxi: Actively carry out a province-wide special rectification campaign on coal mine safety risks.

On May 30, the deployment meeting of the special rectification action for safety production and coal mine safety risks was held in Shanxi Province. Lu Dongliang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, attended and spoke at the meeting. The meeting pointed out that the cost cannot be paid in vain, and lessons must be learned. All levels and departments in the province must take the case as a warning, know their shame and be brave, always tighten the string of safety production, and effectively enhance the sense of urgency, responsibility, and mission of safety production. It is necessary to always adhere to the principle of putting the people and life first, with determination to use strong measures to cure diseases and eliminate hidden dangers in the coal mine sector throughout the province, and to push for the strict implementation of the "eight hard measures" for mine safety. The focus should be on the most prominent problems and concentrated risks in coal mines, with a "zero tolerance" attitude accurately investigating and cracking down on illegal behavior such as hidden work areas, falsification of safety monitoring, illegal mining beyond designated areas, subcontracting violations, and failure to implement major disaster management. Full cooperation with the State Council's accident investigation is needed to thoroughly investigate the causes of accidents, as well as local management, industry supervision, and corporate responsibilities, while striving to rectify prominent issues such as weak safety development concepts, weak rule of law awareness, inadequate supervision, and lenient enforcement at the grassroots level. Major risks should be treated as accidents, with intensified on-site supervision, underground supervision, and comprehensive supervision, strictly implementing safety production responsibilities, effectively improving the quality and effectiveness of special rectification, fundamentally reversing the passive situation of frequent coal mine safety accidents, and reshaping Shanxi's coal industry ecology with the principles of "safety first, integrity as the foundation, green leading, and digital empowerment".
