Horizon Xu Jian: Splitting up to establish a robotics company, achieving overflow effects of the automotive "mother ecosystem".
"We hope to start from cars and reach everything, that is, to achieve a spillover effect of the 'mother ecology' of cars." Recently, Horizon's Chief Ecological Officer Xu Jian revealed to media reporters at the 2026 China Automotive Forum at Tongji University that Horizon has been split off to establish the "Sweet Potato Robotics" company. Reporters learned that Sweet Potato Robotics will explicitly not make the robots themselves, but will position itself as a provider of a universal base for robot hardware and softwareproviding chips, algorithms, and software development platforms for all types of robots. In April 2026, Sweet Potato Robotics announced the completion of a $150 million Series B financing, with total cumulative financing for Series B reaching $270 million. Public data shows that Sweet Potato Robotics has launched over a hundred robot products to date. In 2025, Sweet Potato Robotics' annual shipments increased by 180% year-on-year, customer numbers increased by 200% year-on-year, and top customers achieved full coverage from mature consumer-grade categories to cutting-edge embodied intelligent robots.
