Ferrari has released its first all-electric car - a five-seater model priced at 550,000 euros, marking a significant shift for the traditional high-performance car manufacturer that has historically focused on fuel-powered vehicles. The car is named Ferrari Luce. The unveiling event held in Rome on Sunday was the final step in its three-stage debut process - which began with the disclosure of the core technology last year followed by a further showcase of the interior design. The power output of Luce is slightly over 1,000 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.5 seconds, faster than the Purosangue SUV with a V12 engine, with a top speed exceeding 310 kilometers per hour. According to Ferrari's 2030 plan, electric vehicles will make up 20% of its product lineup. Therefore, Luce becomes a key test case: Ferrari must prove that electric cars can also fit into its business model of limited supply, high pricing, and emotional appeal, while expanding its product line beyond traditional two-seater and four-seater sports cars.
