According to the South Korean Newsis, Samsung Electronics' non-semiconductor division union has applied for an injunction to the South Korean court in an attempt to stop the voting on a bonus increase for semiconductor division employees. The union represents around 13,000 employees in the smartphone, TV, and home appliance departments. A representative of the union stated that the action was triggered by being informed that they were not allowed to participate in the related voting of semiconductor division union employees. Last Friday, Samsung initiated a vote on a compensation plan for approximately 57,000 employees. The plan aims to offer high bonuses to employees in the storage chip division in order to avoid an 18-day strike.
