A report by Ernst & Young shows that despite widespread stagnation in industrial employment in Germany, the automotive and textile industries continue to be severely affected by declining employment numbers. The report states that the number of employees in the automotive industry decreased by 4% last year, with a total decline of 15% since 2019. The decline in the textile industry is even more drastic, with a loss of 22% of jobs since 2019. The report found that, meanwhile, only two industries have seen an increase in employment since 2019, with the chemical and pharmaceutical industries seeing a slight increase in the number of jobs.
