The report mentions that in April 2026, the installed capacity of power batteries for new energy vehicles reached 61.0GWh, a year-on-year increase of 23.7%. The cumulative year-on-year growth rate of the power battery market from January to April reached 4.0%. With the continuous increase in the penetration rate of new energy vehicles, the installed capacity of power batteries continues to rise. In terms of the shape of battery cells, from January to April, square cells accounted for 98.3% of the total, cylindrical cells accounted for 1.5%, and pouch cells accounted for 0.2%. In terms of battery cell materials, the proportion of lithium iron phosphate remains high. With its comprehensive advantages in cost, safety, and performance, lithium iron phosphate batteries have always maintained a high market share in the new energy vehicle market.
