On May 14, Liu Min, Chief Engineer of the State Administration for Market Regulation, met with the newly appointed Director of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, Annette Gue. The International Metrology Congress will be held in Paris, France in October 2026. The two sides exchanged views on the draft resolutions of the congress, the work plan of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, and deepening cooperation with member countries. Liu Min congratulated Annette Gue on her appointment as Director of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, and welcomed her to China to discuss relevant issues. She stated that the State Administration for Market Regulation, as a trusted member of the International Metrology Organization, will support the implementation of relevant resolutions and work plans of the congress and hopes to strengthen cooperation with the International Bureau of Weights and Measures to play a constructive role in the development of the global metrology system. Annette Gue stated that the main purpose of her visit was to listen to the opinions of major member countries such as China on the resolutions and work plans of the congress. The International Bureau of Weights and Measures always responds to the needs of member countries, dynamically adjusts its priority work, ensures the implementation of organizational strategic goals, and highly appreciates China's important contributions in participating in global metrology governance and providing voluntary support. She looks forward to more extensive and in-depth cooperation with China.
