The oil hub of Canada is full of confidence, and it is expected to reach a key agreement on carbon capture projects with oil companies within two months.
Canadian Prime Minister of Alberta, Danielle Smith, anticipates reaching a final agreement with major oil giants this summer to deploy carbon capture technology in oil sands extraction. Once a substantive agreement is reached with the oil sands alliance on the "Pathfinder" carbon capture project, it will completely clear strategic obstacles to establish a new pipeline to the British Columbia coast. Smith is aggressively pushing for the construction of this new pipeline, aimed at shipping oil to Asian markets, in order to significantly increase Alberta's crude oil production. The specific route details of the pipeline are expected to be announced before July 1 and conditional administrative approval is planned to be obtained by October 1.
